Restaurant worker was stiffed on a tip and then fired — but not for the reason …
She served up sass — and got served a pink slip.
A server recently shared her experience of being terminated from her job after confronting a customer over a lack of tip. The incident, which occurred close to closing time, involved a couple who paid their bill via Apple Pay but did not leave any gratuity. The server, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated that she approached the male customer to inquire if her service had been unsatisfactory, given the absence of a tip. This led to a verbal exchange, after which the customer reported the server to management. Following the complaint, the server was asked to apologize to the customer, which she did to her managers. Ultimately, she was fired from her position. While acknowledging her role in the confrontation, she emphasized the financial reliance of servers on tips and called for greater public awareness regarding tipping practices.
