Georgia Student Faces Expulsion for Bringing Transgender Friend to Prom

High school student Emily Wright faced expulsion from North Cobb Christian School in Georgia for attending prom with a transgender friend. Tricia Wright told Atlanta News First that neither the school's guidelines nor student code of conduct explicitly bans LGBTQ+ individuals from attending school events. Emily expressed worry about her future, and has since re-enrolled in a nearby public school to complete her education. North Cobb Christian School has not yet responded to PinkNews' request for comment.
