Black Coffee explained, "I am now in a better space in understanding who I am, and I also understand the kind of pressure society puts you in without ever backing you up." He elaborated on how society often dictates life milestones, particularly for women, from early adulthood. "Young girls are told, 'go find a husband, go find a husband.' You know, when a girl's 26, their mothers are like, 'where are the kids? We want grandkids!'" he stated, highlighting the relentless push towards traditional family structures. He further reflected on his own career trajectory, noting that despite achieving significant professional success, the focus invariably shifted to his marital status. "With my career, especially because it wasn't so obvious, meaning I wasn't going to get a degree and go be a lawyer... it was very unclear. But as soon as it pops, they're like, 'Oh damn, I bought my first house, you know, I'm driving a little Benz.' They're like, 'When are you getting a wife?'" Black Coffee recounted. He emphasized that this societal narrative continues to play out, even in jest, as he recalled his ex-wife making jokes about needing an "in-law" during his European bookings.
