The move, implemented at the end of July, has left students from surrounding areas such as Odoreu, Botiz, and Medieș, with an improvised single drop-off point on Botezului Street, near the Economic High School. On a recent rainy autumn day, the impact of this change was evident as students were observed waiting and walking in the rain, often without adequate shelter. "They are young, and perhaps they can manage, but it's not pleasant weather," commented an observer, noting the presence of both young students and older individuals navigating the difficult conditions. The Local Council's decision was reportedly made to alleviate traffic congestion in the municipality, particularly after the opening of the Transylvania Bridge. However, critics argue that the measure has inadvertently created more chaos. "I believe it creates much greater chaos with the relocation of the stops," stated a local resident, expressing concern for the students' welfare. The new arrangement requires students to travel further to reach their schools or homes, increasing their exposure to the elements and potential safety risks. The voice-over in a recent video report appealed directly to the mayor, urging a reconsideration of the decision. "Perhaps, Mr. Mayor, after all the good things you have done in Satu Mare, you will reconsider your decision and let the children go to school peacefully, come home peacefully, and allow us as parents to be more at ease knowing they are safe."
