Socond, Romania – A local initiative spearheaded by the PortalSM news outlet has successfully provided a new, fully furnished, and equipped home for a mother and her three young children in Socond. The project, which saw extensive community involvement and volunteer efforts, culminated in the family moving into their dream home after living in challenging conditions. The story began when PortalSM received a call from a woman in Satu Mare, bringing to light the plight of Carmen, a mother with limited resources who desperately wished for a home for her children. "I only had a plot of land and three sacks of cement," Carmen recounted, expressing her initial despair at the thought of building a house with her own hands. However, the PortalSM team, led by Florin Micșa, assured her that solutions would be found. "God will find solutions for you," Micșa stated, emphasizing the power of faith and community. The construction of the house was completed in just three months, a testament to the dedication of approximately sixteen companies and numerous volunteers who contributed their time and resources. Florin Micșa, described as the main volunteer, played a crucial role, even participating in some of the groundwork. He highlighted the involvement of young people from the child protection system, who also volunteered their assistance, making the project a truly collective effort. Carmen expressed overwhelming joy and gratitude for the new home. "For me, it's still a dream," she shared, her voice filled with emotion. She particularly noted the impact of having modern amenities, stating, "I used to wash by hand at home," referring to the washing machine now available in her new house. She extended her thanks to everyone who got involved, including a woman from Satu Mare who provided food, and especially to Mr. Anton for his unwavering support despite various challenges. The new house features a well-equipped kitchen, a children's bedroom with two beds, and a clean bathroom, offering a significant improvement in the family's quality of life.
