Actor Bryshere Gray Accused of Assault in Chesapeake Incident
Chesapeake, Virginia – Actor Bryshere Gray, known for his role in the television series "Empire," is reportedly facing assault and battery charges following an incident in Chesapeake. The charges were filed by a private citizen, identified as Dustin Wilkins, who claims to be a long-time associate of Gray. According to Wilkins, the altercation occurred on Friday afternoon at Homewood Suites after an argument regarding unpaid hotel fees. Wilkins stated to reporters, "As I was explaining to him that he can't just leave without paying adding you have enough problems... I am trying to save your life. He then charged towards me from around the car, charged into me with his shoulder, and fighting me as I was recording the incident over the phone... a blunt blow into me and punching me." Despite filing the charges, Wilkins also revealed that Gray has mental health issues and that his goal is not to see Gray incarcerated. "Bryshere has mental health issues... We are helping him with that, that is our goal. Our goal is not to have him in jail... He needs mental health help," Wilkins stated. He also assisted Gray in securing a bond for his release. Police in Chesapeake have confirmed that they did not arrest Gray and that the charge was initiated by Wilkins.
