Minsk Levada Complex: New Apartment Inspection Uncovers Extensive Construction Defects

MINSK – A recent video circulating online has brought attention to numerous construction defects discovered during the inspection of a 112-square-meter apartment with a terrace in the Levada residential complex, located on Novovileinskaya Street 65. The inspection, conducted by a specialist from "Master House," meticulously documented a range of issues that could impact future residents.Among the most prominent concerns are the aesthetic and functional problems with the apartment's windows and terraces. The inspector noted significant internal dirt and bubbles within several double-glazed units, which, while not immediately affecting thermal performance, detract from the visual appeal and may require costly replacement. Scratches were also found on aluminum window frames and the stainless steel railings of the terraces, indicating potential mishandling during installation or construction. The video also highlighted design choices that drew criticism from viewers in the comments section. The entrance to the building features a narrow staircase without a ramp, prompting questions about accessibility for residents with strollers or bicycles. A small "paw-washing" sink in the common area was deemed inadequate by some, while the lack of pre-installed awnings or pergolas on the terraces was a point of contention, suggesting future owners might face bureaucratic hurdles for such installations.Furthermore, the inspection revealed issues with the floor screed, which, although within tolerance, requires additional finishing work. While the wall plaster was generally satisfactory, cracks were observed in areas where monolithic structures transition to blockwork, a common settlement issue that needs addressing. Ventilation systems in the bathrooms and kitchen were confirmed to be working effectively. The findings raise questions about quality control in new residential developments. One commenter noted, "The house is good, but you'll be exhausted driving children to school. It's a complete mess with that." Another expressed concern about the complex's location on a former poultry farm, questioning potential ammonia residue in the soil. These broader community concerns, alongside the specific apartment defects, underscore the importance of thorough inspections for new homeowners.
