Professor Ahmed Hankir, a distinguished Consultant Psychiatrist, recently shared crucial insights into identifying psychopathic traits, aiming to equip individuals with knowledge for self-protection. In a recent video, Professor Hankir outlined five key indicators to recognize a psychopath. According to Professor Hankir, the first sign is manipulative behavior. Psychopaths are described as 'master manipulators,' cunning and calculated individuals who exploit the vulnerabilities of others. They often appear sincere and disarming, slowly building trust only to exploit any perceived weakness until their victims are 'emotionally drained and discarded.' The second characteristic is a grandiose sense of self-worth. Psychopaths not only believe they are special but 'know it as if it is a scientific fact.' They perceive themselves as superior and consider universal rules, morals, and boundaries as inapplicable to them, viewing themselves as 'above reproach.' A profound lack of remorse or guilt marks the third sign. Professor Hankir stated that psychopaths 'can devastate lives yet show no remorse.' They may lie, cheat, betray, or ruin someone completely without feeling any guilt, shame, or second thoughts. Victims often realize the extent of the harm only when it's too late. Fourth, psychopaths exhibit superficial charm. Initially, they can appear incredibly charismatic, witty, confident, and even seductive, using flattery to win others over. However, this charm is 'skin deep,' eventually feeling 'rehearsed, performative, hollow, and unsettling' as the 'mask slips.' Finally, the fifth sign is callousness and a lack of empathy. Professor Hankir emphasized that psychopaths can be 'ruthlessly cruel through words or actions.' Unlike most people who would stop if they saw they were causing pain, psychopaths 'don't even flinch.' They possess no empathy or compassion and frequently 'blame the victim' for reacting to the harm they have inflicted. Professor Hankir concluded by advising viewers to 'protect your minds and protect your hearts.'
