Behind the Scenes: "Hoy Soy El Chef" Contestant Pablo Chagra Airs Grievances Against Chef Mariano
Mexico City, Mexico - Tensions flared on the set of "Hoy Soy El Chef" as contestant Pablo Chagra publicly expressed his frustration with Chef Mariano regarding a recent cooking challenge. Chagra detailed an incident where, according to him, Chef Mariano provided conflicting instructions that negatively impacted his team's performance and grading. Chagra recounted, "He went to the station to tell us to use two plantains, and then I told Rox, 'Five plantains per plate to make it look nice,' and he said, 'Five seems excellent to me, it's a very beautiful number.'" However, the situation reportedly took a turn when Chef Mariano later reprimanded them. "Afterward, he scolds us because not all of them were fried. Why would we fry more plantains if he told us five plantains per plate?" Chagra stated, adding, "And then he comes and tells us 'incomplete task' and it harms our grade." When asked if he wished to discuss the matter with Chef Mariano, Chagra emphatically replied, "No, I don't want to talk about it. I want us to settle it outside." The exchange highlights the competitive nature of the culinary program and the personal dynamics among its participants.
