Doha Hosts High-Level Forum to Boost Venture Growth and Innovation Doha, Qatar – In a significant event for Qatar's business landscape, a high-level forum was held on May 18, 2025, bringing together key players in the venture capital and innovation sectors. The forum, co-hosted by the US-Qatar Business Council, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and Golden Gate Ventures, aimed to accelerate growth and champion private sector innovation in alignment with Qatar's National Development Strategy. Sheikha Mayes bint Hamad Al Thani, Managing Director of the US-Qatar Business Council, expressed excitement about the event, stating, "I've been very excited about this event happening today in Doha." The forum attracted a large turnout, filling a hall with investors, founders, and ecosystem leaders, a stark contrast to similar events six years prior. Hamad Mubarak Al-Hajri, Snoonu's co-founder and CEO, noted this growth, saying, "Six years ago, when you say VC investment startup, you only see three people. And today we have a full hall." The event demonstrated Qatar's progress in fostering an environment conducive to entrepreneurship and innovation.
