Elderly Man's 10-Hour Walk Ends With Help From Kind Stranger and Justice Officials
A Kazakhstani pensioner found himself in a dire situation when his bank accounts were frozen, and his pension money was stolen. Unable to afford transportation, he began a desperate journey on foot from Shymkent toward Karaganda, walking for over 10 hours. Fortunately, a passing motorist noticed the elderly man's distress and stopped to help. The driver assisted the pensioner in contacting the Department of Justice in Turkistan Oblast. Nurzhan Makhambetov, the head of the Department, along with notary Madiyarova and bailiff Alimov, swiftly intervened. They worked to restore access to the pensioner's accounts and lifted the writ of execution. "Seeing a person in such a state, without help or money, at his age, was very difficult," said Mr. Makhambetov. The timely intervention and compassionate actions of these individuals highlight the importance of community support and the positive impact of efficient governance.
