They call it a 'mini ritual' with 3 easy prompts.

A recent video by TikTok user @queenn_gee, known as Gee Gee 🦋, has sparked a conversation among parents regarding effective communication with their children. The content creator, who focuses on healing, parenting, and lifestyle, advocates for a shift from the generic question, "How was your day?" to more specific and engaging inquiries. "That's boring, it's bland, and it's not going to get a genuine, intriguing, interesting, connecting conversation going between you two," she states in her video. She suggests alternative questions such as, "What was the best part of your day?" or "What is something new that you learned in one of your subjects?" The mother, whose son is 7 and in second grade at a private Christian school, also includes questions about his faith development, asking, "What is something that you learned that's biblical?" or "What is something that you learned today about Jesus?" She highlights her proactive approach to parenting, emphasizing her involvement with her son's school and teachers to gain detailed insights into his daily experiences. "He opens up & wants to share everything with me on his own," she notes, underscoring the success of her communication strategy. The video aims to encourage parents to foster open and detailed communication with their children, moving beyond superficial daily check-ins to build stronger, more connected relationships.
