Customer Alleges Aggressive Manager Behavior During Return Attempt at Retail Store
A customer recently shared a distressing account of her experience attempting to return a damaged suitcase at a local TJ Maxx store. The individual, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the handle of her recently purchased suitcase broke within a week of acquisition. According to her account, a sales associate initially began processing the return. However, a manager reportedly intervened, raising their voice at the employee for unfamiliarity with the return procedure. The manager then allegedly turned their attention to the customer, stating, "So we're not going to take your return today because there's obvious signs of use and I see some sand residue, I see like a little scuff right here." The customer reportedly attempted to de-escalate the situation by saying, "Okay, that's fine." However, the manager allegedly continued to loudly detail the reasons for the refusal, causing the customer significant distress. The customer stated she cried after leaving the store due to the manager's aggressive demeanor. The store has not yet commented on the incident.
