The increased scrutiny comes in response to reports of fuel shortages and price gouging. "We are working closely with the National Police, Armed Forces, and customs officials," explained Ing. Nelson Lamas, head of the ANH's Analysis and Evaluation Unit, in an interview featured in the video. "We've reinforced 21 checkpoints nationwide to ensure compliance with the 120-liter limit for long-distance travel." This limit is established by Supreme Decree 4910. The video shows officers inspecting vehicles and measuring fuel tanks. Those found exceeding the limit face penalties, including fuel confiscation and legal proceedings.
