La Paz, Bolivia – On June 25, 2025, Bolivia's agricultural sector takes center stage as the Eastern Agricultural Chamber (CAO) hosts its first major forum, bringing together four presidential candidates to discuss crucial proposals for the nation's productive future. The event, set to commence at 9:00 AM and broadcast live by Red Uno, aims to address the pressing needs and challenges faced by one of Bolivia's most vital economic pillars. The agricultural sector is a significant contributor to the national economy, accounting for 17% of the Gross Domestic Product and demonstrating an impressive 8% growth in 2025, generating approximately $6 billion. Despite this growth, the sector faces considerable hurdles, including the need for legal certainty, access to open markets for exports, consistent fuel supply, and the adoption of modern biotechnology to enhance productivity. Confirmed presidential candidates participating in the forum include Samuel Doria Medina of the Unidad Alliance, Jorge "Tuto" Quiroga of the Free Alliance, Manfred Reyes Villa of APB Súmate, and Andrónico Rodríguez of the Popular Alliance. Their participation underscores the political importance of the agricultural agenda in the upcoming elections. Representatives from various agricultural chambers across the country, including Beni, Pando, Tarija, Chaco Chuquisaqueño, Cochabamba, and Oruro, along with other national institutions like CAINCO and the National Chamber of Industries, are also expected to attend. The forum is seen as a critical platform not only to gauge the candidates' commitment to productive development but also to present solutions to the sector's structural challenges, fostering a renewed economic landscape for Bolivia.
