Javier Mamani, Director of Epidemiology at SEDES, stated during a press conference that the first case was identified on June 17, involving a 16-year-old adolescent in the city of El Alto. A second case, a 9-month-old girl, was confirmed on June 20, also in El Alto. The third case, confirmed on June 25, is the 10-year-old boy residing in the municipality of La Paz. Mamani emphasized the critical need to reinforce epidemiological surveillance and implement widespread vaccination brigades to contain the spread of the disease. He highlighted the coordinated efforts with various institutions, including the Medical College, Cirmes La Paz, Cirmes El Alto, Caja Nacional, private banks, and the municipalities of La Paz and El Alto, as well as the education sector.
