The bill, dated June 10, 2025, shows a total of 531.30 RON for a meal that included two grilled dorada fish, fries, salad, water, lemonade, and tiramisu. However, two specific charges drew Robert's ire: a 15 RON fee for a "premium cutlery set" and a 10% service charge amounting to 48.30 RON. In a video widely circulated on social media, Robert expressed his disbelief, stating, "I don't think there's a crazier bill than this. Never, since I was born, have I seen a bill like this in my life." He particularly questioned the concept of paying extra for cutlery and a service fee, suggesting it implied an option to eat with hands or that service was not inherently included. He further highlighted the price of a 750ml bottle of Dorna water, listed at 86 RON, comparing it unfavorably to prices he encountered in Monaco. "I was in Monaco a year ago... and I paid about 120 euros for a meal with my family and nephews. Here, for this, I paid 531 RON," he remarked, equating the cost to approximately 100 euros. The incident has ignited discussions among consumers about transparency in restaurant pricing and the fairness of additional charges in tourist areas.
