MINSK – A recent consumer inspection at a Green supermarket in Avia Mall, Minsk, uncovered multiple violations of food safety and storage regulations, leading to a police intervention. The inspection, conducted by a local consumer advocate known as 'Хочу сервис', revealed several concerning issues across various departments. Among the findings were expired cheese products, with several packages past their sell-by date. Additionally, meat-filled pastries, specifically 'chebureki', were found displayed at room temperature, despite their labels indicating a much shorter shelf life and requirement for refrigerated storage. The advocate noted that their shelf life had expired hours before the inspection. Further issues were identified in the frozen fish section, where packages labeled with 7% glaze were found to contain approximately 50% ice, significantly exceeding the permitted 5% glaze content under technical regulations. Several vacuum-sealed fish packages also exhibited compromised seals, raising concerns about product freshness and safety. 'This is unacceptable,' stated the consumer advocate, 'such blatant disregard for standards puts public health at risk.' The video concludes with the advocate calling the police to report the violations, emphasizing the need for immediate action and accountability from the supermarket management.
