Eyewitness Recounts 'Horrific' Scene at Liverpool Victory Parade Crash
Liverpool Victory Parade marred by Car Crash: Eyewitness Describes 'Horrific' Scene A car crashed into crowds celebrating Liverpool's Premier League victory on Saturday, injuring several people. Eyewitness Jonathan Isherwood, a broadcaster with Cork's Red FM, described the scene as 'genuinely one of the most horrific things I've seen'. He was among the hundreds of thousands gathered for the open-top bus parade. "It was awful," Isherwood said in a video posted to social media. "So we saw pretty much the entire incident, really. As we walked around, there was an ambulance...and at that point we just saw a lot of commotion, a lot of things going off, and we heard the bangs." He and others tried to help but the situation was too dire. Police are investigating the incident, and the injured are receiving medical treatment. The parade was suspended following the accident. The city's joy was overshadowed by the tragedy, highlighting the unpredictable nature of large public events.
