Croatia: Fifth in the World for Beer Consumption

Croatia's surprising fifth place in the world beer consumption ranking has been revealed by RTL Direkt. The report features interviews with ordinary Croatians discussing their beer habits. One interviewee, Mario from Zagreb, stated, "I drink about four or five beers a week." Another, Mato, added that he consumes "one to three beers on weekdays, and a bit more on weekends." Gordan Milobar, a bartender, noted that new beers are constantly being sampled. Relja from Zagreb revealed he might drink as many as ten beers a week. The high beer consumption suggests a strong cultural connection to the beverage in Croatia.
