Catalan Theater's Smoke-Free Secret: Herbal Alternative Revealed
Barcelona Theater Actors Reveal Secret to Smoke-Free Performances Barcelona, Spain – A recent interview on the popular Catalan radio show "Tot és comèdia" shed light on a little-known aspect of stage and film productions: the type of tobacco used by actors. Director Mònica Molins and actors Laura Roig and Joan Esteve of the play "Refugi," currently running at the Teatre de la Biblioteca La Perla 29, revealed they use a special herbal alternative. "It's like shepherd's herb, but much better than regular shepherd's tobacco," explained one of the actors, "because if you smoke a shepherd's tobacco cigarette, you get really dizzy. This one, on the other hand, is very mild." This practice, they explained, ensures realistic performances without the health risks associated with traditional tobacco. The interview highlights a creative solution to a common challenge in the performing arts, offering an interesting perspective on the dedication to authenticity in theater and film.
