Three Arrested in Blogger Albert Ojwang's Murder Probe; Tampered Evidence Found
Nairobi, Kenya – In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the death of blogger Albert Ojwang, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has arrested three civilians suspected of involvement in his torture. The suspects, identified as former inmates released from Nairobi's Central Police Station, were apprehended on Sunday and are expected to be arraigned on Monday alongside the station's commanding officer, Samson Talaam. Ojwang's lawyer, Ezer Nguono, stated, "The IPOA officers who arrested them are only indicating that it is related to the murder of Ojwang." Meanwhile, the family continues to demand justice, with Ojwang's widow, Nevenina Onyango, recounting a final, frightening phone conversation with her late husband. IPOA investigators are also pursuing two additional police officers captured on CCTV footage at Mbagathi Hospital, where Ojwang's body was transported. The recovery of allegedly tampered-with CCTV footage underscores the gravity of the situation and the determination to uncover the truth behind this tragic event. The family's plea for swift justice echoes the sentiments of many Kenyans who are demanding accountability for Ojwang's death.
