Florida Assault Victim Shares Her Story in TikTok Video: 'Girl! Hold On!'
A Florida woman shared her story of abuse at the hands of her father after over a decade since the events happened.
A Florida woman, Alyssa, recently shared a harrowing account of her childhood, detailing a complex web of family trauma, addiction, and abuse that culminated in her stepfather, who she considered her father, being imprisoned in 2013. In a candid online video, Alyssa, now 26, revealed that her older sister became pregnant and had a child with their stepfather. This shocking revelation was later confirmed through DNA testing. Alyssa recounted a childhood marked by her parents' severe addiction and physical altercations. She and her sister were removed from their parents' care by the Department of Children and Families (DCF) and placed with their respective grandparents. However, they were eventually returned to their parents, where the abuse reportedly continued. Recalling her early years, Alyssa described being locked out of the house with her younger brother while her sister and stepfather were inside, an experience that instilled deep fear and prevented her from speaking out. 'I was extremely terrified to say anything to anyone,' she stated. This fear led to a lifelong burden of guilt. The truth about her sister's pregnancy emerged when the landlord of their Cantoment, Florida home, who also employed her mother, questioned the nature of her sister's relationship with their father. Despite initial denials from both her father and sister, a child was born, and DNA evidence confirmed the stepfather's paternity. The trial occurred in July 2013, following the birth of the child in February of the same year. Alyssa expressed that her father's imprisonment, while a consequence, does not fully encompass the justice she seeks for the profound trauma she and her siblings endured.
