Kazakhstan Lawmaker Pushes for Youth Program Salary Increase
Kazakhstan Parliamentarian Proposes Salary Hike for Youth Program Participants Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan – A member of the Majilis, Nartay Aралbayұly, has called for a substantial increase in the monthly stipends for participants in the government's "Youth Practice" program. Currently, participants receive 30 AЕK (monthly calculation index), but Aралbayұly argues this should be raised to 40 AЕK, and to 45 AЕK for those working in rural areas. "We need to increase the monthly payment to motivate young people and attract them to participate in the program," Aралbayұly stated during a recent parliamentary session. He emphasized the importance of providing adequate compensation, especially for those working in rural areas where living costs can be higher. Aралbayұly's proposal has sparked debate within the Majilis. While some support the initiative, citing the need to attract and retain talented young people, others have expressed concerns about the potential financial implications. The Majilis is currently reviewing the proposal. The outcome of this review will significantly impact the future of the "Youth Practice" program and its participants.
