Solo Female Traveler Shares Safety Concerns in France, Mexico, and Nicaragua
A solo female traveler recently shared her experiences of feeling unsafe in three different countries: France, Mexico, and Nicaragua. During her solo trip to Paris, she encountered aggressive petition scammers near the Louvre. In Nice, she reported being chased by a man wielding a pointy stick. Her travels in Mexico included an uncomfortable encounter on a beach where a man approached her, placed his towel directly next to hers, and asked intrusive personal questions about her stay. In Nicaragua, she described pervasive catcalling and uncomfortable male attention on the streets, leading her to prefer walking only in busy areas. While recounting these incidents, the traveler stressed the importance of trusting one's instincts and remaining aware of surroundings, but also encouraged fellow solo female travelers not to be deterred from exploring the world.
