Hermosillo Restaurant Closes Due to Prolonged Construction
A Hermosillo, Sonora restaurant owner, JOV, recently announced the closure of her establishment after months of struggling with the effects of ongoing road construction. The construction, which has blocked access to her restaurant for over two months, significantly reduced customer traffic, making it impossible to sustain the business.
"It's been more than two months of construction," JOV said in a video posted online. "They've been working, but it's been nothing but disruption. There's no way for customers to get to my restaurant."
The situation highlights the challenges faced by small businesses in the city. The lack of parking and customer access directly impacted her revenue, leading to the difficult decision to close. JOV also expressed concern for her employees who lost their jobs due to the closure.
While the construction aims to improve the city's infrastructure, the video underscores the need for better communication and support for local businesses affected by such projects. JOV's story serves as a reminder of the real-life impact of large-scale development on the community.
