Allegations of Vote Manipulation Surface in 2014 PSOE Primaries, UCO Report Cited
Madrid, Spain – A recent podcast has brought to light alleged irregularities in the 2014 PSOE primaries, citing a report from the Guardia Civil's Central Operative Unit (UCO). The report reportedly includes a recording that suggests vote manipulation occurred during the internal party elections. According to the podcast, the UCO report details a conversation between Santos Cerdán, identified as an ex-member of the Congress of Deputies, and Koldo García Izaguirre, an advisor. In the alleged recording, Cerdán is said to instruct García Izaguirre to secretly insert two ballots into the ballot box when no one is observing. This alleged act was reportedly aimed at favoring Pedro Sánchez in the primaries. The podcast hosts noted that while the alleged manipulation involved only two votes, Sánchez ultimately won by a significant margin of 17,000 votes. They also mentioned that there were previous reports of irregularities and witnesses who claimed to have seen unusual activities, such as an individual behind a curtain with a ballot box during the internal party congress.
