Wildfire Rages in Pissona Forest: Firefighter Injured in Intense Battle

A large-scale wildfire continues to rage in the fir forest of Pissona, Greece, prompting an extensive emergency response. Thick smoke and visible flames have engulfed parts of the forest, posing a significant threat to the surrounding area. Firefighting efforts intensified today with the deployment of helicopters conducting water drops, alongside numerous ground crews. During the ongoing operations, two firefighting vehicles were reportedly encircled by the advancing flames. While the firefighters managed to evacuate, one individual sustained burns and was safely transported to Chalkida Hospital for medical attention. Authorities are working tirelessly to contain the blaze and protect nearby communities. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
