Edible Fashion: Bucharest Students' Sweet Creations Take Center Stage
Bucharest University Students Design Edible Fashion Collection Bucharest, Romania – First-year fashion students from the University of Arts Bucharest have captivated the city with their innovative and edible clothing collection. The collection, which was on display at the National Theatre of Bucharest until June 8th, 2025, features garments crafted from pretzels, pasta, rice, popcorn, and other unexpected edible materials. "We used about two kilograms of pretzels and 700 rings," explained Andreea Timofti, one of the participating students, describing one of her creations. "It took around two days to make, and it's all based on the same system." The designs range from intricately woven pretzel tops to dresses adorned with pasta and wafers. The project coordinator, Andreea Stoian, praised the students' creativity and unique approach. "Each student put their own stamp on the project," she said. "It's a sweet and visual experiment, but also a gustatory one." The collection demonstrates the students' ability to push boundaries and explore unconventional materials in fashion design. The edible fashion show is a testament to the students' ingenuity and artistic vision. The event was a success, drawing considerable attention from the public and media alike, highlighting the potential of food as a creative medium in fashion.
