Dubai and Abu Dhabi: Affordable Luxury? A Traveler's Guide to Budget-Friendly Exploration Contrary to popular belief, a recent travel experience shared by a Serbian vlogger reveals that visiting the opulent cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi doesn't necessarily require an extravagant budget. The traveler detailed how careful planning and off-season visits can significantly reduce expenses, making these destinations accessible to a wider range of tourists. Flights from Belgrade to Abu Dhabi were secured for approximately 160 euros per person, including hand luggage. Upon arrival, travelers have options for transport to Dubai, ranging from a private organized transfer costing between 80 and 100 euros, which can be shared, to a more economical shuttle bus service available for 10 euros per person, running throughout the night. Accommodation in Dubai, specifically at the Golden Media Tulip Hotel, was reported to be around 50 euros per night, with an additional 10 euros for breakfast. The vlogger noted that even more affordable options, starting from 30 euros per night, are available, especially outside the city centers of both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Even during peak season, hotel prices are not drastically higher. While high-end restaurants can be costly, the video highlights numerous budget-friendly dining options. Food courts in shopping centers, local restaurants, and even supermarkets offering ready-made meals provide affordable alternatives. For those seeking authentic local cuisine, meals can be found for as little as 15 euros. Many attractions in both cities are free to visit, including Dubai Marina, Al Seef (Old Dubai), JBR/Kite Beach, Dubai Mall & Fountain Show, Madinat Jumeirah, and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. For paid attractions, such as the Burj Khalifa (around 47€), panoramic helicopter flights (around 170€), or the Museum of the Future (around 40€), booking tickets online in advance is recommended, as discounts and combined attraction tickets are often available, leading to significant savings. Public beaches are also largely free and well-maintained, though private beach clubs may have an entry fee, which typically includes a sun lounger, towel, and a drink or meal credit.
