Romania and Hungary Establish New Border Connection Point to Boost Regional Connectivity
On Tuesday, June 17, a crucial connection point was established between Romania's National Road 59G (linking Dudeștii Vechi and Beba Veche) and Hungary's National Road 43112. This development marks a significant step towards the future road that will connect Romania and Hungary in the Beba Veche area. The meeting to formalize this connection included representatives from DRDP Timișoara, responsible for the Romanian section's design, alongside Hungarian specialists and local administration officials from Beba Veche. The project is structured in two phases: the construction of a new 675-meter connecting road and the modernization of 24 kilometers of the existing National Road 59G. The Hungarian side of the project has already been completed, with the connection to be facilitated via a roundabout. This new infrastructure is expected to significantly improve direct access to Serbia. Following the finalization of the design phase, the project will proceed with the approval of technical and economic indicators and its inclusion in an investment program.
