Madrid Metro and EMT Boost Services for PAU Exams
Madrid Bolsters Public Transport for University Entrance Exams Madrid is preparing for its annual university entrance exams, known as the PAU, by significantly increasing public transportation services. Around 40,000 students will be taking the exams, and authorities are working to ensure their smooth commute. The Metro will be increasing its services by 21% on several key lines, including lines 2, 3, 5, and 10, along with the operational section of line 6. "This increase is crucial to managing the expected surge in passengers," said a spokesperson for the Madrid Metro. In addition to the Metro enhancements, the Empresa Municipal de Transportes (EMT) will deploy 224 extra buses to support the students' travel needs. Bus routes connecting Alcalá de Henares and the Autonomous University will also see increased frequency. One student commented, "It's reassuring to know that the city is making this effort to help us get to the exams on time." This proactive approach by Madrid's public transport system demonstrates a commitment to supporting its students during this important period.
