"The winds will be strong," said Irma Padilla, a meteorologist with Telemundo Las Vegas. "We're expecting them to start Saturday evening and last into Sunday morning. There is also a chance of rain." Temperatures are expected to rise sharply beginning Wednesday, reaching a high of 103 degrees Fahrenheit in Las Vegas by Thursday. In some areas, temperatures may reach as high as 106 degrees Fahrenheit. The remainder of the week will see temperatures in the high 90s. Residents are urged to take precautions to stay safe during the strong winds and high temperatures.
