UAE Developers Buzz About New Bee Conservation Project
UAE Property Developer and Hatta Honey Partner to Reintroduce Native Bees A new initiative in the UAE is combining urban development with environmental conservation. Hatta Honey, a local honey producer, and Amwaj Development, a luxury property developer, have joined forces to reintroduce native bee populations across the country. The project, named 'YALLA BEENA!', focuses on relocating urban beehives to Hatta and educating the public about the importance of pollinators. "Hatta Honey Bee Garden is a discovery center and research center," explains Meriem Hamma, beekeeper and business development manager at One Hive. "We are receiving a lot of general public, schools, and universities who want to learn more about bee pollinators and why they are important." The project started this year with the rescue of three native beehives, each housing 60,000 bees. The initiative combines conservation and education, supporting local flora and ecological awareness. The collaboration highlights a growing trend among property developers to integrate sustainability into their projects, demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility and community engagement. The success of 'YALLA BEENA!' could inspire similar projects across the UAE and beyond, setting a positive example for sustainable urban development.
