Husbands Urged to Support Wives Through Perimenopause Amidst Medical Gaps
A man, known as "The Parent Express," recently shared a video addressing the challenges women face during perimenopause and advocating for greater spousal support. In the video, he highlights that traditional medical tests may not conclusively diagnose perimenopause due to fluctuating hormone levels. He detailed a range of symptoms experienced by women, including hot flashes, joint pain, memory loss, anxiety, depression, and mood swings, linking them to a decrease in estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. He encouraged husbands to actively listen to their wives, validate their experiences, and educate themselves on the condition. "Prescribe her some compassion, prescribe her some grace, prescribe her some understanding," he advised, emphasizing the importance of emotional support and self-education for partners.
