Mormon Wives' Stars Open Up About Faith, Family, and Leaving the Church
Stars of 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' Share Their Journeys. Layla Taylor and Jessi Ngatikaura, stars of the Hulu series 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,' recently sat down with The View to discuss their experiences within the Mormon Church. Taylor, who converted at 16 and married at 19, described her journey as one of seeking a strong family unit. "Growing up, I had a messy home life," she shared, "and I always longed for that strong family aspect." Ngatikaura, who was raised in the church, discussed her decision to leave several years ago, citing the pressure to maintain a 'cookie-cutter' lifestyle and the emphasis on outward perfection. "It was a cookie-cutter lifestyle that I fell into because of the culture," Ngatikaura explained. Both women's stories offer a nuanced perspective on faith, family, and the challenges of navigating personal beliefs within a structured religious community. The second season of 'Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' premieres May 15th on Hulu and Hulu on Disney Plus.
