Athens, Greece – Actress and former Big Brother contestant Afroditi Gerokonstanti was discharged from the maternity hospital on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, radiating joy alongside her partner Jim Georgantis and their newborn daughter. The happy couple shared their first moments as a family as they left the hospital. Gerokonstanti spoke candidly about her challenging yet ultimately miraculous birthing experience. "My water broke on Friday, July 19, and it took 30 hours for the delivery," she revealed, describing the intense period leading up to her daughter's arrival on Saturday, July 20. Despite the prolonged labor, she expressed profound happiness. "I am one of those people who never planned to have a child, and now I'm one of those who cry at the slightest thing. I've been crying for four days straight," she said, visibly emotional. "It's a miracle." She emphasized the crucial role of her medical team in navigating the difficult process. "After 30 hours of labor and the C-section, the moment they placed her on me, I was just overcome with emotion. With all my consciousness, I just burst into tears and kept saying, 'My child, my child, my flesh and blood.'" Gerokonstanti credited her doctor, Mr. Nikoloudakis, and her midwife, Ms. Lembesi, for their support. "My bond with my doctor and my midwife was what made me forget everything. It's logical to have anxiety, it's not all rosy and simple, but we must trust our doctor and especially our midwife. And then, the whole package, when you decide to give birth, and the atmosphere is beautiful, and they make you feel good. So, I had anxiety, and those around me helped me overcome it."
