Thailand's New AI Weapon Against Online Banking Scams
Thailand Launches New AI-Powered System to Combat Online Bank Account Scams Bangkok, Thailand – In a significant step towards combating financial fraud, Thailand has launched a new AI-powered system designed to detect and prevent scams involving mule accounts. Developed in collaboration with the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) and TNN Online, the system will instantly alert online buyers if the bank account they're using is linked to known fraudulent accounts. "This system is like having a radar to warn people about suspicious accounts," explains Pei Kunlacha, TNN Senior Content Editor. "It will check account numbers used in online transactions against a database of known mule accounts used by scammers." The system is currently undergoing testing but is expected to be fully operational soon. This innovative approach is expected to significantly reduce the success rate of online financial scams, protecting consumers and bolstering financial security in Thailand.
