Spain's Wealth Divide: Are You Among the Richest 10%?
A recent analysis reveals the stark realities of wealth distribution in Spain, indicating that a significant portion of the population holds minimal or even negative net worth. According to data from WID/EL PAÍS, 20% of individuals in Spain have a net worth of less than €0. The majority, 50%, fall within the €0 to €150,000 bracket. Further breaking down the figures, 17% of the population possesses a net worth between €150,000 and €300,000, while 7% are in the €300,000 to €500,000 range. The data highlights that only 10% of Spaniards have a net worth exceeding €350,000. For those aspiring to be among the wealthiest, a mere 2% of the population surpasses a net worth of one million euros. Interestingly, the analysis also points out that having €85,000 in net worth places an individual in the upper half of the wealth spectrum in Spain.
