Norwalk Teen Geovani Chavez Fatally Shot; Community Mourns Loss

Norwalk, California – An 18-year-old, Geovani Chavez, was tragically killed in a shooting incident in Norwalk on June 4, 2025. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) reported that Chavez was shot following an altercation with an individual outside an apartment complex on Los Alisos Circle near Pioneer Drive. According to his family, Geovani, who turned 18 in March and was soon to become a father, was in the complex's driveway selling clothes to a stranger he had met online. His 13-year-old brother was present during the incident but was not injured. Geovani succumbed to a gunshot wound at the scene. Neighbors who knew Geovani since he was a child expressed their shock and grief over his sudden death. His mother, Roxanne Chavez, described him as a 'quiet boy' with a 'beautiful heart.' The LASD is urging anyone with information regarding the shooting or the possible gunman to come forward immediately.
