Kenyan X Influencer Dies in Police Custody; Investigation Launched A young X influencer, Albert Omondi Ojwag, died in police custody in Kenya on June 9th, 2025, prompting an immediate investigation. Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome announced the launch of the inquiry during a press briefing, stating, "Given the circumstances surrounding the incident, it was necessary to investigate the death in accordance with regulations governing death in police custody." Ojwag was found unconscious during a routine cell inspection at the Central Police Station and subsequently pronounced dead at Bagathi Hospital.
