Kazakhstan Paramedics Get Bodycams to Improve Safety Astana and Almaty, Kazakhstan – Paramedics in Kazakhstan's capital and largest city are now equipped with video bodycams to enhance their safety and protect them from potential harm. The new devices, recently introduced, feature an SOS button, geolocation capabilities, and automatic upload of recordings after each shift. This initiative comes in response to a concerning number of attacks on medical workers in recent years. In 2024 alone, 12 instances of attacks on paramedics were reported. "The bodycams provide an extra layer of security," said one paramedic featured in a recent video showcasing the new technology. "It gives us peace of mind knowing that any incidents are recorded and can be used as evidence." The automatic upload feature ensures that all recordings are securely stored and accessible to authorities, facilitating swift investigations and accountability. The initiative aims to create a safer working environment for paramedics, allowing them to focus on providing essential medical care without fear of violence.
