Safe Summer in Novopolotsk: Designated Swimming Areas and Safety Rules
Novopolotsk Opens Swimming Season: Designated Beaches and Safety Guidelines Novopolotsk, Belarus – The official swimming season in Belarus has begun, running from May 1st to September 30th. To ensure public safety, authorities have designated specific areas for swimming within the city of Novopolotsk. These include beaches on Lake Lyukhovo and several locations along the Western Dvina River, near the Parkovaya Street rescue station and the bridge on Kalinina Street, as well as a beach on Lake Vel'ye. "The main guarantee of our safety during this period is organizing leisure in specially designated places for mass recreation," stated Artur Skripiko, chairman of the Novopolotsk city organization of OSVOD (Republican public organization for water rescue). He stressed the importance of responsible behavior, including adult supervision for children and refraining from swimming under the influence of alcohol. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can result in fines, as outlined in Article 24.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Parents are also responsible for ensuring children under 16 years of age swim only in designated areas. By following these simple rules, Novopolotsk aims to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer swimming season for all.
