Bolivia Closes Door on New Presidential Candidates
Bolivia Closes Presidential Candidate Registrations: No New Entries Allowed LA PAZ, BOLIVIA – May 27, 2025 – Bolivia's presidential election is moving into its next phase, with the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE) firmly shutting the door on any further candidate registrations. Tahuichi Quispe, a TSE member, stated definitively that the principle of preclusion will prevent any review of the process. "No activity can be revisited or retroactively altered," Quispe stated in a recent UNitel news report. This decision comes after 3290 candidacies were registered on May 19th. The TSE's decision brings clarity to the election process, ensuring a timely and decisive conclusion to the candidate registration phase. The final list of candidates will be released on June 6th.
