Bolivia's Fuel Crisis: YPFB Promises Relief, but Patience Needed
Bolivia's Fuel Shortage: YPFB President Addresses Public Concerns Long lines at gas stations across Bolivia have become a common sight in recent days, sparking concerns about fuel availability. In response to the crisis, YPFB President Armin Dorgathen held a press conference to address the public. "No vamos a reducir las filas en un día, tomará tiempo," (We won't reduce the lines in a day, it will take time,") he stated, acknowledging the challenges in quickly resolving the shortage. Dorgathen emphasized that YPFB is actively working to increase fuel supply, citing the imminent arrival of over 70 million liters of diesel and gasoline from neighboring countries. This substantial import is intended to bring the fuel distribution back to 100% capacity. However, he also highlighted the ongoing issue of fuel speculation and the need for calm and patience from the public. The government is working to crack down on illegal activities and ensure fair distribution to all sectors, including emergency services and agricultural producers. The situation is expected to improve gradually as the new fuel supplies reach the market and speculation is controlled.
