Bolivia Faces New Cold Front: Senamhi Issues Warning
Bolivia Braces for Cold Snap: Senamhi Issues Warning LA PAZ, Bolivia – A new cold front is expected to sweep across Bolivia, bringing a significant drop in temperatures between June 8th and 10th, according to the National Meteorological and Hydrological Service (Senamhi). The agency has issued a warning urging residents to prepare for colder conditions. "Between the 8th and 10th of June, we will register a new decrease in temperatures, both minimum and maximum," stated Hugo Mamani Ticona, Senamhi's director-general. The warning follows a previous cold snap that resulted in frost in several regions, particularly in the valleys of Santa Cruz and Tarija. Videos circulating on social media show strong winds and people in the streets bundled up in coats and hats. While this cold front is not expected to be as severe as the previous one, Senamhi advises residents to take necessary precautions to protect themselves from the cold. The cold front is expected to primarily affect the Chiquitanía and the Bolivian Chaco regions. Senamhi continues to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
