Triple Collision on Cochabamba-Santa Cruz Route Leaves Two Drivers Carbonized
COCHABAMBA, Bolivia – A devastating triple collision involving three heavy transport vehicles on the new Cochabamba - Santa Cruz route has resulted in the deaths of two drivers, who were found carbonized inside their cabins. The incident occurred last night at kilometer 23 of the highway. According to initial reports, one of the vehicles involved was a tanker transporting oil. The impact of the collision caused the tanker to explode, igniting a fierce blaze that engulfed all three vehicles. The fire burned for several hours, creating a hazardous situation. Firefighter units from the municipality of Sacaba, along with police personnel, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Emergency responders worked tirelessly to bring the inferno under control, utilizing significant amounts of water. Residents in nearby areas expressed concern due to the proximity of the fire to their homes. After the flames were extinguished, firefighters discovered the remains of the two drivers within the burnt-out wreckage of their vehicles.
