David Corenswet Reveals Personal Inspiration for His Superman Role
In a recent exclusive interview, David Corenswet, the actor slated to take on the iconic role of Superman, shared profound insights into his preparation and inspiration for the character. Speaking about his approach to portraying the Man of Steel, Corenswet emphasized the collaborative effort behind the film, acknowledging the significant contributions of director James Gunn, who conceived the movie. Corenswet revealed a deeply personal source of inspiration: his late father. He described his father as someone who, despite facing life's everyday frustrations—like stubbing a toe or missing a flight—would always persevere with kindness. "He was somebody who could get very frustrated with life, with the little things that go wrong in life, as I think a lot of people do," Corenswet stated. "And in that moment where it just feels like everything's out to get you, you just take a deep breath and you put one foot in front of the other and you keep trying to do what's important to do. You keep trying to be kind to people and be present with life." This spirit of resilience and compassion, he explained, is what he believes Superman embodies. He also referenced the first official image released of him in the Superman suit, stating, "Superman putting his boots on, getting ready to go to work. We were all there with our boots on trying to make a great film for all of you. It's all in the spirit of Superman." Corenswet concluded by expressing his love for the people in Bolivia, hoping to visit the country soon.
