Police Patrol Truck Overturns in La Paz, Driver Allegedly Had Alcohol on Breath

La Paz, Bolivia – A police patrol truck was involved in a traffic accident Monday morning in the Sopocachi neighborhood, overturning and felling two trees. The incident, which occurred around 7:30 AM, saw the police vehicle come to rest on its side. According to a witness at the scene, the driver of the patrol truck, a police officer, reportedly had alcohol on his breath. The witness stated, "He had a bit of an alcoholic breath, but he wasn't drunk as if he had just taken it." Following the accident, the driver's colleagues arrived and transported him away from the scene. Investigations into the cause of the accident are expected to follow.
