La Paz, Bolivia – Lic. José Gabriel Espinoza, a representative of the Unidad alliance, affirmed during a recent economic forum that the private sector will be the central pillar of Bolivia's future economic policies. Speaking at the 'Economic Debate' organized by the business community, Espinoza outlined the alliance's vision for a stable and prosperous economy. "The central axis of the economy and public policies in general must be the business sector, and consequently, the families behind it," Espinoza stated. He emphasized that legal security and clear rules for investment are paramount, rather than solely focusing on tax reductions. "It is not possible for a public official to have so much power that with a fiscalization, they are capable of charging you more than what the tax you had to pay was worth," he added, promising an end to abusive fiscalizations from day one of a new government. Espinoza also addressed the challenges of fuel shortages and road blockades, asserting that such issues hinder economic activity. He declared a "zero tolerance" policy for blockades and violent protests, clarifying that "the right to protest cannot be confused with abuses against the rest of the population." This stance underscores a commitment to ensuring free transit and supply chains for the benefit of all citizens and businesses.
